I am so annoyed at Google. I recently saw an offer for £50 free advertising on Google Adwords. With out really needing to advertise my blog I thought it would be fun to do so and would give me experience of using Adwords. To be fair, adwords drove a hell of a lot of traffic towards my site. The problem being that after the £50 free voucher had gone Google started charging my bank card costing me £30 because I had left it unchecked for a few days. Why does one of the biggest companies in the world need to use such underhand tactics?
Surely on sign-up, when they asked for your payment details, something should of clicked in your head?
Google made out that they were taking my bank details for future transactions. One of the things I read stated that my campaign would end either after 30 days or after my £50 free advertising ran out. No need to be so pious tnvrstar and benjaminp
Thanks adsvouch. The offer was marketed as a chance to learn how to use Google adwords for free. If anything the experience has put me off doing it again. The results were brilliant but I have left with a negative attitude towards Google
Sorry to hear that . Did you contact them to check in that cost ? Please tell us more so that everyone can know this scam .
Im not sure its a scam. I could have avoided it if I had simply cancelled my account as soon as my free £50 ran out but I forgot to do so. As a result Google kept charging per click but charging my account rather than the now defunct voucher. My advice to anybody who wants to try the £50 voucher is do so, I have a better understanding of Adwords as a result, but watch your voucher limit very carefully.
that is not their fault, that the way they make money and it is stated clearly in TOS, you did not read
Monopoly dictates its terms and earns as he wants, adwords is not a perfect service, but it can work, just need some experience
not agree with you, there is always a choice, you can use alternative search engines and social networks, but we are not comfortable to change what we use so many years, and we use Google and its services
