Google adwords - high bounce-rate: Fraud?

    Hi there

I have recently begun advertising a site of mine using google adwords. Their tool is pretty good and give a nice historical view of clicks etc. It also have the opportunity to use conversions. I don't have any experience advertising other places, though, so can't tell if its much better than other products.

I have an issue, though: I am also using google analytics, and can see that whenever people enter my site from google ads, the bounce rate is 93%!!
All other incoming sources (search engine, site referrals, other etc.) has a bounce rate of 20-40%. What is going on?? Is some nickle-headed youngster clicking his own ads on his website for pennies, or what? Or is it normal to have such a large bounce-rate on ads?

    Kind regards
    Vognsen

Here are a few reasons of getting a higher bounce rate from Google Adwords Ads:

-People click through the Text/banner, but after reaching your page, they exit before the Google pixel has time to load. This usually happens when people exit a page before it has a chance to finish loading.
-Peopledon't like what they see (the exit before pixel loads)

    -People misclick
    -Pixel not loading properly
-Adserver only reports certain geos (US only, etc etc)
-Your landing page do not support via visiting from Mobile devices.

    Hope this helps.

This is depend on the visitor. If the visitor like your website , it may come back or leave it permanently.

You can try and locate from where the most visitors come from you. If most of them come from one state then you can be sure that someone is clicking for pennies, but I really doubt that. The other thing is that you missed smth when you targeted the campaign, you can try and check out what went wrong.

I am not sure why you are considering bounce rate as a metric In PPC. It's a good thing to track when you run a normal website or a normal blog where you need visitor engagement. In PPC the primary goal is to Track Sale/lead/convert or action of some sort.

These actions are completed (Should be ) on the vary first page where the user lands. So once that action is done, he willl leave. Bounce rate will go higher in that case. that is fine.

If your action (Required goal) is setup in part of pages (Like he need to visit 3 pages before the conver/lead is done, you must track it as a funnel. (Can be setup in google analytics). And you should track how many users landed on the first step (page 1) and from page 1 how many went till page 2 (Step 2 in your funnel) and how many went far page 3. That will give you some clear insights on where your website is lacking and then you should optimize/split test/ whatever it takes to improve the numbers.

At this point, if you have a multi page setup, its normal to have some visitors leave on the first step, some on the 2nd and then some on the last. the more pages or part of funnel you have the more visitos will leave. But the more importent thing is, the visitors who are clicking towards the links and moving on to further steps, that shows they have interest in your offering and thus totally worth it. You just need to track them down on each step and find out where you are lacking.. Not in just 1 day but it may take time depend on the traffic. at the end you should aim for maximum people who landed on your target to reach towards the goal.

    ==================================
on the other hand, if you have a sales page which is not doing good and you are wondring why people are not reading it completely,it will be a good idea to split it into different pages and then see which part of it is poor. note that each page should have its own headlines and a call to action which should make them to force click it . Just like the daily soap TV guys.who lead you to the step where next watching next episode is almost like a need..

PS: English is not my primary language, Excuse me for any errors instead of making funny comments.....

Adword's bounce rate and costs are increased due to lack of relevancy to the landing page. Kindly double check it & check the site's design whether it is good and user friendly.

I had that problem before. Double check where the visitors are coming from, i.e.their service provider. if they are all form the same host name and location, it's possible that you have a bot going on your Adwords. This method has a limitation however, cos the person/people clicking have to come form a company, if they come from private ip you will only see their Internet provider name. Go to keywords (analytics), select the high bounce rate keyword, select domain as your secondary dimension. If that's ok you can check invalid clicks report in adwords or you can always call your account handler in Adwords directly on 08001690409, they are very helpful!

The content depend on the visitor demand , and others need to be seen in google analytics .
