check if you've got content network switched on - if you do then this can be quite normal as the content network is rubbish!

search network - more expensive, but better ctr and many more conversions
content network - cheap as chips, but v low ctr and v low conversions

(I'd like to add that the two comments are just general observations form my own experience, some people may do well out of the content network, although I don't know of any)

9000 impressions? Its either you have content networked switched as JHardy has mentioned or the keywords you are bidding on are too broad and bringing you useless impressions of people not interested in what you have to offer.

If you are advertising in the Internet Marketing niche then your keywords must be very targeted and your adcopy must be as good because it is very competitive.

YOU have to write ad copy that is relevant to your ads

YOU have to improve your Quality Score (look for posts here on quality score or QS), or raise your bids

One thing you can do is make sure that when writing your adcopy you must include your keywords in the title, the body as well as the url of the adcopy.

You must also make sure that you have atleast between 5 and 10 keywords within your adgroups so your keywords can stay as targeted as possible and you do not find yourself trying to say to much in your adcopy

If some of those impressions are coming from the content network (which is what it seems like to me) then it's not unusual to have no clicks with that many impressions. Make sure you are keeping content network and search network campaigns separate.

Am I the only one seeing the irony of someone selling web marketing services through a web marketing medium like adwords and struggling?

It sounds like you're using broad match for your keywords. I usually mirror 2 campaigns, one with phrase match and one with exact match, keywords the same in each.

an easy, effective strategy to improve ctr is to use dynamic keyword insertion..eliminates the need to create seperate ads for different keywords, raised your ctr and quality scores, and is easy to implement

Include your keywords in your ad text (especially the title) to show users that your ad relates to their search.
Use a strong call-to-action. A call-to-action encourages users to click on your ad and ensures they understand exactly what you expect them to do when they reach your landing page. Some call-to-action phrases are Buy, Sell, Order, Browse, Sign up, and Get a Quote...
