    Hi,

I was thinking of using the banner advertising on Google Adwords to advertise my forum.

    Is it a good idea?
Will it be a good at converting to members?
    Anyone tried it?

Yes, I think Google AdWords is good for forums.
It's even better to use content networks to advertize it there, not in the search itself. Much more cost effectively and conversions seem to be occuring there too.

    Hi Luke

Why don't you try Twitter for advertising a forum, you should get a lot of traffic that way. I also agree the content network might work, but you may need to choose certain sites to advertise on (in related areas)

I tried to post my twitter link but not been a member yet for long enough, you can PM me for a link to it if you want to connect that way

    Twitter?

I don't know much about it.

How would I go about using it?
