    Hi,

I am an affiliate. I am using Google Adwords to drive traffic to my blog post that contain affiliate links. How to track sales conversion that are driven by Google Adwords?
I would like to find out if it is worth the money to advertise using Google Adwords.

You can only track conversions in Adwords if you can place a snippet of code in the sale confirmation page. Some affiliate networks allow this, but most do not. Contact the affiliate network that you are working with and ask if this can be done.

    Hi,
I guess there is no way for me to track click to sales conversion. However, I will try and make a request to place code in the sales confirmation page. The chance is slim. I wonder how affiliates that use PPC marketing track sales conversion.

Start a new thread with that question as the title. People will share.

I would use a tracker like Tracking202 to accomplish this.

You can normally get a merchant or network to place pixels for you just ask your affiliate manager.

If that doesn't work, you can still track using subids. Every cpa network offers them as a way to pass values through your affiliate link and when a sale is made you'll see the subid value that converted.

There are even scripts that hide the subid value so only you know what it is. (This keeps it away from networks knowing exactly which keyword converted.)

    :)

Duh, I knew that (subids), but didn't think of it right off hand. Good post, coach.

Most affiliates I know use Prosper202 or Tracking202. I think both are still free and I don't think you need to have the tracking pixel placed.

PPC Coach, can you use this subid to feed accurate conversion data back to google adwords (as an affiliate using large datafeeds)? Is this possible?

just point your ad-words or any other campaign to a specific landing page.
each affiliate link on this landing page should have a different tracker (merchant / affiliate network usually provided sub-ids - just look for them)

so for 1 affiliate link, you can have 4 same landing pages - just change the links (yahoo/google/others landing pages)
