Is there a rule about using google adwords to market affiliate products with google adsense in the website? Is that allowed?
It is allowed but I think it's becoming a bit of a grey area these days. Using Adwords to drive traffic to a site "purely" for the purpose of promoting Adsense is called arbitrage. Some while ago Adsense announced they were going to look more closely at these sites, and recently I've noticed a few posts where publishers who use both have been surprised at having their accounts suspended. It seems like the deciding factor is whether Google think you are doing it to increase Adsense earnings or whether it is genuinely to promote other products. I can't help but wonder if Google are clamping down a bit, it's still a bit early to come to a conclusion.
Thanks....cause I sort of read somewhere here in the forum that there is some issue about using google adwords to promote a google adsense site...so I was just wondering because I did it when I got free $50 adwords from the hosting company I signed up..although the landing page was a review of products but there is a line ads on the sidebar plus a lot of google adsense ads on the other pages.
I heard that there are people created adwords accounts using vouchers and vccs, and then advertise on their own sites with very high cost per click. That made google lost their money
it's caled adsense arbitrage, even with affiliate products on the page.. Read about adsense arbitrage and how many adwords account have been banned in the past.. I don't remember about adsense accounts being banned too in the process, but wouldn't surprise me since google at some point did a very big cleaning out.
