    hello
i noticed a very big difference between the numbers given by keyworddiscovery.com wordtracker.com and google adwords keyword tool .
i know that the numbers have to be different due to the different method of calculation but at least the comparison between two words have to give similar results on both tools, but this defiantly not happining.

    for example
gum boil - 4.000 exacts on google- 25 on kydiscovery.com
what is gum boil ? 200 on google - but still 22 on kydiscovery
and this repeated these days so i really feel that one of the tools IS bugy, and i don't know which one to rely on???

    Hi there drahmedgalal,

My name's Mal and I work for Wordtracker Customer Support. This is a question that comes up a fair amount of times, and there are a couple of reasons for the issue that you raise. The first is data sources - every keyword research tool has a different data source, and this reason alone will result in disparity in results. Google, to date, has not released any details of the size of its sample set or the extrapolation it applies to search volume to arrive at the figures given.

The second factor to consider is that the Google tool's default is 'Broad Match' so initially you're seeing data on searches that contain 'gum' and searches that contain 'boil'. From the wording of your post, it looks like you're checking for Exact Match as well, which is a good thing as it will give you a clearer picture.

Obviously I can't speak for everyone, but many of Wordtracker's customers use multiple tools to get as broad a view as possible, so it does make sense to check different sources. The important thing to remember is to look at the search volumes as relative figures - any keyword research tool, no matter how impressive the provenance, is only ever going to offer a guide, and the only real measure of a keyword's usefulness is going to be live testing out in the wild.

Good luck with all your work,

    Mal

thanks mal for your care. i will use many tools in the future and have a results comparison before any work because i depended on only one tool in the past, which wasted time and money for a words that revealed to have much more less search than this tool was giving me, thanks again
