Google Adword Image Banners?

We are a wall art company selling oil paintings.
Wondering if anyone has tried Google Adword Image Banners?
Are they paypre click just like ad words?
Do i just build a ad word campaign for image banners,
I am new to all this and just needing a little help, Thanks

 

I don't know what sjbman thinks is so wonderful but to answer your questions:

1. image ads are pay-per-click too.
2. they are used only on content network campaigns.
3. content campaigns should be kept separate from search campaigns.

 

Do you think pay pre click really works on banners or not?
I know facebook has some ads now sure how good they are?
We are just trying to drive more traffic.
Trying to get twitter and facebook to work for us now.

Why would they not work? Some will tell you they work better than text ads.

 

Yeah they are pay per click just like adwords only thing they are images. They help in getting more business.

 

We are using text ads and image ads also but the conversion rate for image ads is more than tet ads.
