Hi, My site was hit by a penalty sometime ago ... i made some changes to it and submitted a reinclusion request. Google sent me a message via webmaster tools saying it had been processed and i would a) see ranking improve b) i should look at the google terms again after no improvement and i cant work out why? i have gone through the guidelines again but still cant work it out. should i send another reinclusion and ask what im doing wrong? would there be anypoint? will google help/explain???
i guess you just got an automatic response.. try your luck again and submit another reinclusion request, after that if your website is still penalized, then drop it and redesign your website (make sure you have a clean structure) and move everything to a new domain after doing some light changes in the content (you can always buy an old domain for maximum Seo benefits), then try to get the same old links by asking the webmasters and telling them that you changed you domain.. if you don't want to start from scratch then you can always do a 301.. penalties do not necessarily transfer through a 301, but they might..
im not really to sure what we did. site has ranked well in a big industry for about 5 years now. we have not been totally dropped as we still appear on page 1 for a few terms (inner pages) but our home page ranked well on the big big key terms and now is no where ... looks to me like its just my hp that has some kind of penalty?
Why not post your URL here and the keyword phrases that you USED to rank for (with their estimated rankings and how long ago they ranked) so that people could take a look at your site and see if THEY think you're under penalty or just ranking poorly for other obvious reasons?
Did you promote majorly with a specific anchor text? I'm not sure if they would remove you from that specific term for that, they are always changing though. But things usually go back to normal. What's hp?
A number of things can cause this particular occurance, could you tell us more about what you did that led up to this??
Google is doing a pretty good job of identifying websites with good content and rewarding them with high rankings.
