Google adsense trick..am I being naughty?

I decided to mess around..maybe increase the clicks.....or something

I added a background to some adsense on the middle/right of my site. See here ..you can't miss it


What do you think? I'm thinking it's a violation, but at this point my earnings are uber low and I'm not making much at all. So losing adsense wouldn't hurt my feelings really. I thought about replacing adsense or just doing away with those types of ads completely. At this rate, it would take months to reach payout again. I WAS getting like $150 a month from it, but now I'm getting maybe $17 a month from it since about december or january. Crazy!

 

i think it's allowed but don't take my word for it. Looks great .

You didn't modify the adsense code, you're not telling people to click the ads, you're not placing any images next to the ads... so I don't see a problem. Very clever

P.S. Even if it's a violation, the worst they will do is send you an email telling you to fix it. They won't ban you outright for formatting violations. Good luck dude

 

did your CTR increased? its look nice, but Im not sure if it will help you....

 

Well I JUST added it. so we'll see. I'm considering putting it inside each of my posts and aligning it to the right of the content.

 

i can see that you are using a background image.. Its against TOS.
However, you can use css to decorate it. I have checked it with adsense.

Not allowed, under the Program Policies - Encouraging Clicks, it says "May not direct user attention to the ads via arrows or other graphical gimmicks" I'd imagine that qualifies as a graphical gimmick. I'd remove it from your site.

Hey.. if u just make it a simple square or a block.. or any light 4 sided image.. I dnt think it will exploit any policies..! Good Luck!

 

OH I see it now! LOL the red star. Looks good and if Google have a problem with that then they are being silly... having said that it could open a can of worms and end up people trying all sorts of stuff.

 

Just contact them, i'd love to know this. If this is allowed I just got a new idea for a site *cough*

It is clearly against GA TOS

if that has not effected your CTR then remove it immediately as this might get you banned from adsense.
