Popups are fine. I used Paypopup on one of my sites for a few months without one complaint from Google. I would suggest tho, that you limit the popups to 1 per page page load. I'd try them out for a month and see where my traffic levels stand. Also, listen to your visitors if they tell you that the popups are promoting some sort of spyware. If you get any indication that some of them are, be sure to contact Paypopup.
Yeah of course, I'm carefully monitoring my visitor stats and my income stats to see if its worth having them. As long the income increases that's alright for me for these sites that I have the popups on, even if the visitors decreases, as my adsense doesn't really give good money these days anyway... Thanks for all response and suggestions!
he says it best. anything more then one i would say is excessive. some ad networks have bad popups that interfere with the site, but normal popups/unders don't.i think what they mean is something like a floating ad that is on your page.
Half the people on here don't know what they're talking about. Read the terms. I posted the link and the text for you saying one popup was ok.
Alright, so anything more than one per what? Any popup more than one per page, or one per session, one per minute, one per day or what? What is the limit of "excessive" ? It's pretty clear popups are ok, but not so clear what they term as "excessive use of popups"...
