IF you have adsense account, then you can add adsense ads on wordpress too. just login to your adsense account and create ad and then copy the ad code and paste in in your wordpress blog. that's it.

Besides just copying the adsense format into the page template or widget or post, there are several wordpress plug-ins that help you set up adsense on all your posts and pages.

I use all-in-one-adsense-and-ypn, but there are several to choose from. Currently, I have the all-in-one-adsense-and-ypn plug-in place two ads on my home page, one ad on my individual posts, while I copy and paste in my own adsense ad into the sidebar of most of my wordpress blogs...

before wordpress.com didn't allow adsense on the blogs of their users.
    Did they change this policy?

That is a good point, if you are using the wordpresss.com site to host your blog, then you cannot place adsense on it or use other javascript ad methods. You can put banner ads on your site, though.

Of course, if you are hosting your own sites and using the wordpress format to make a blog, then you can place adsense on those blogs without a problem.

My best advice is to learn how to make a Wordpress website yourself then you have no limitations on any "rules", it would just be you and Google.
