Hi, I run an arcade games website that gets about 55k of daily visitors.. and I'm using Google Adsense to monetize the website and make some money.. When I first joined Adsense I installed two ad units (336x280).. One in the header and the other bellow the flash game.. both are at least 150px away from the game frame.. I EXACTLY followed Adsense guidelines.. I started to see high CTR rates such 9%+.. I ran the ads on this website for about 2 months (And received the earnings of one month) when my account was eventually disabled for invalid activity.. I didn't know what to do.. I've submitted an appeal and it was declined.. After some time.. I got the ads running again on the website (Using my friend's Adsense account).. decreased the number of ads to only 1 (One 160x600 in the sidebar which is 150px away from the game frame and wrote "Advertising" above the ads so the visitors explicitly know they're clicking on an ad).. The CTR rate on my friend's account became 5%.. But in the last few days it started to increase to rates like 7%.. This time.. I've submitted an invalid activity report form so I let Google know I'm not doing anything wrong.. They never replied to my report.. Are CTR rates like 7% of flash games websites totally safe? Please note I'm not clicking on my ads (or asking others to do so) or doing anything wrong.. Simply.. The audience of my website is children 6-15 years and graphical ads tend to draw their attention.. I'm afraid they'll get my friend's account closed in the end
Of course you will. Just adding their adsense code on your site is putting them at risk. I can't believe that people are that stupid and dumb. ...which is of no use to any advertiser!! ... of course almost all your activity is going to be"invalid" ...
So what do you suggest? I'm not totally sure about my visitors ages.. But I expect people from 6-15 years old to search for flash games.. Anyway, most of the ads are also for flash games websites like mine or online games (such travian, etc..).. So I think these kids are valuable to the advertisers
If you value your friendship with your friend, then take hos adsense code off your site before you get him banned!!!
