Google Adsense fraud.

I've been aproached by people who wish to offer me the following service:

We will help you to increase your AdSense revenue by browsing your site and clicking on AdSense ads. We are a network of thousands of people and it will be impossible for Google to trace us. We can get your revenue ten times higher per month. If you earn $2,000 per month now we will make you earn $20,000 per month. All we charge is a percentage of your revenue.

I belive this could be the truth if they use their brains and really try to cheat Google. IP can be faked and if they use normal user behavior and the network is large enough I can't see how Google will be able to trace them?

This concerns me in two ways.

    1) As an AdWords advertiser my traffic might not be of high quality anymore(if I use content ads).

    2) Maybe more important, this will destroy the future of Google AdSense on sites. If quality goes down advertisers will pay less and in the end all good sites will remove the AdSense ads(I did this myself today since revenue is too low). Only cheaters will stay.

I would guess this is a growing market. Did anyone else receive this? What are your thoughts? Can it be stopped? If so, how? Are your AdSense revenue stable? Going up or down?

I concur. I would forward the email and never take a risk of something like that on my sites.

My question was not if I should do it. :)

I will never do it for many reasons.

Well, if I didn't have food to put on the table I might consider it.

Forward to Google. These are the people who are going to ruin the program for all of us!

i don't condone it but i think if the network is really large enough, i agree with billion that google won't be able to prevent or detect it from happening.

If the network is really that big, it won’t take very long until some lazy dude begins making mistakes and the whole "undetectable" system will go down... and all the publishers using it will end up with their accounts closed, if not prosecuted for fraud.

It does make you re-evaluate the value of AdWords, but as an Advertiser you can always opt for turning off the Goggle’s content network option in your Campaign Settings.

I just know that in my case, traffic coming from the content network is still valuable and profitable... you just have to evaluate your own situation.

I certainly hope G will do something about this. Otherwise, Adsense program will die.

    yep, they're just crap
if the thing they do is "legal" why don't they just use it on their websites.
and I was wondering how can they know how much I earn through adsense as they want a percentage?,
maybe they're willing to steal adsense accounts

    (this is my first post:))

hey, smart post for your first one...you had extra coffee at breakfast.

If adsense publishers stop showing adsense on their sites, then ads will be 'rarer'...meaning they will be more valuble to adwords clients ?...giving a higher ppc to the publisher...therefore making more webmasters add adsense to their sites...
its a big circley, spirally, marketting, catch 22, loop kinda thing.

I have received several of these. No doubt about it...forward it to G, I here they take some pretty agressive action against this. We need to report this or your point number 2 is well taken.
