public service announcements aka PSA they show PSA's when there is no ads to be displayed. now i think about it,the PSA's might be image to,but i don't know.
even when you select image ones, they sometimes show text adds when the inventory for image adds is not large enough. For these text adds you will only get paid for click throughs, and a good color scheme is very good way of increasing ctr
