i am using adsense , and i noticed that they count my main channels , all the money earned from the other channels is not really counted . one time i contacted them and they said that it takes time to reflect in report like few days . but what i actually was paid was the main channel money and still excluding the other channels . i am not manipulating any clicks for any of my sites. so there should be no issue there . would you have idea why they are doing that and how can i fix it ?
If you use both URL channels and custom channels, a page (and the clicks on that page) can be included in both. Google reports will show the clicks in the URL channel and in the custom channel. At the time Google calculates your $$$, they make sure no click is counted twice. Jean-Luc
I'd start another topic but my problem is almost exactly the same except kind of in reverse. I have two groups of URL channels set up in custom reports and the sum daily total of those custom reports rarely adds up to the daily total showed in my Overview report. In other words, I'm seem to be getting these 'mystery' clicks all the time that I can't account for. I've gone over my URL channels with a fine tooth comb and I can't come up with any errors. I have exactly 141 URL channels. 9 URL channels are set up in one custom report and the other 132 set up in another. As I understand it, URL channels should report all clicks made on a specified web page regardless of whether an ad block is set up with another custom channel, correct? (edit) Oops. Sorry. I never noticed this particular entry at the Google support site before: This may be the answer to my problem although if anyone has anything to add, it would be appreciated.
Exactly! In my openion it is no need to use URL channels if you have custom channels. Having both will cause some confusions.
Not really. Having URL channels allows you to quickly glance at which one of your sites is performing, rather than having to see the full breakdown of ad placements, etc. It's very useful if you don't want to wallow in stats, as it were.
I use both URL and custom channels - for every site I use URL channels to break down by site section while I use custom channels to monitor ad types, layouts, colors, etc. What I have, though, is a weird scenario in which my top level URL channel counts do not add up to the total number of clicks implying that I am getting clicks from a site outside of my URL channel controls but ALL MY SITES have a top-level URL Channel. Example: site 1 dotcom is getting 150 clicks site 2 dotcom is getting 220 clicks site 3 dotcom is getting 30 clicks so you'd think the TOTAL CLICKS would be 400 but they are being reported as 410 or whatever - the point being - is it possible to find sites that are using my AdSense code without my knowledge?
Not without your knowledge, I don' think so, but here on DP and on my site you can give your adsense publisher id in your profile and sometimes google ads will be displayed with your ID on them. That can explain, maybe you gave your adsense publisher ID somewhere sometimes and it's earning a little. There are indeed more and more of those ad revenue sharing programs out there, I believe Digital Point was one of the first forum to implement it, if not the first.
Without your knowledge ? Don't forget the Google's cache pages of your sites and cached or translated pages from other search engines. Jean-Luc
