Unsure if this is in the wrong section, sorry if it is.

Im looking for something similar to google adsense / adbrite.

I want to setup a website where publishers can signup and then advertisers can purchase advertising on the publishers sites (text links & banners)

Im looking to do this in a targeted niche and may expand later.

Does anyone know of good software that can manage this? Also if you have used or use software like this any reviews would be great.

    Thank You

At the beginning, you won't make any money cause you dont have volume
When you start getting volume, your ad-serving code will quickly burn through your server's CPU and RAM in a nanosecond, and you will need to buy several servers
At that point, you will figure out that a pre-package script sucks and you need custom code with millimetric precision for security, performance and money management

bottom line: either you have xx,xxx$ in capital or you must be a darn good programmer (world-class I'd say) to do it yourself :/

Im not looking to make money at the start, just setup a service as such and probably for the first part set it up as a traffic exchange rather than charge until i get the volume.

I have many large sites so I have a server cluster that is more than capable of handling a large load from this type of site.

I would say the setup i currently have would allow for around 2,000,000 impressions per day.

I have money to spend on this project but would like to start out small to test the market in the niche before I spend all out.
