google ads on wordpress!

    hello,
    recently purchased a site on here and need to take the previous owners google ad code off.
    any ideas on how to do this.

    Either the ad code will be entered somewhere in the admin panel (could be a theme settings page or a plugin page) or they're coded directly into the theme. Obviously if they're in admin that's easy enough.

    If they're in the theme you should be able to find the code by going to appearance>editor and looking in the correct theme file. Try footer.php and header.php first.

    Hi,

    It depends on where he added the code, some themes have a built-in adsense options..

    If he just paste it in the file, then you can edit the file where the adsense is, by looking for "googleads code" but don't forget to backup file, just in case..

    Check if previous owner used any kind of 'plugin' to display adsense ads.

    If the former owner didn't use plugins such as whydowork, check templates pages: most of the time, ads have been hardcoded inside them. Have a look at appearance section.

    Check the theme files for the code then remove it
    if not check the plugins
