Lol- what a X-Mas joke. Google will never allow other sites- specially competitors better than itself - thats for sure. The thing is -- the main domain - google.com is PR10 and any regional page -- google.co.uk/google.co.in are PR7/8 . @ OP - please check which you are using. I always use the main URL and its PR10
Google.com is at PageRank 10. You may be looking at the PageRank of the wrong page (e.g. iGoogle has a PR of 8, while some other Google country page have other PageRanks).
Hey i would like to add to your information that google is different in different countries and so there PR also differ Google.com [US] = PR 10 Google.co.in [India] = PR 8
google has a pr of 10 at www.google.com it has a pr of 8 (or 9 sometimes) when you click the google link in your toolbar. http://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en 3 pages for this drek of a topic?
google is only accesable regionally eg- if your in the uk you get google.co.uk and so on www.google.co.uk is pagerank 8
proof - click on my www.google.co.uk link and if your in the us you get re-directed to www.google.com and vice versa they all lead to the same domain for your region. country or not every google top level domain should by its own algo have a pr10 otherwise it has a flaw or some crap.
It's not flawed. Google UK has a PR of 8. If you wanted to see the main Google page, you can always click on "Go to Google.com". There, Google has PR10. Google.com automatically redirects you to a regional based page that usually have a lower PR. Google's PR is shared amongst it's many regional/country pages: Not all of Google regional/country pages have PR10 (only US has PR10).
Did you notice that the Google result that is on the second page is actually Google.co.uk.. I guess it won't return itself as a result because you used Google to search for a search engine... it must know you are obviously searching for another one Yahoo is not that smart... it gives itself top honors, followed by Google, dogpile, Altavista, webcrawler, hotbot, metacrawler, alltheweb then Lycos. Try typing /ncr after google.com EG: google.com/ncr that should keep you at google.com and not redirect you to the uk version. Cheers James
Every Country gets served with a different google and is redirected there according to the geographical locations. And they all can have different PR's
Lol, somebody just got fired at google. Naa, its just yahoo using loads of high pr dropped domains to link in
