The two things that worry me - they're not trackable. If you have any sort of tracking on board, forget it. The other aspect, it's going to piss (my) audience off - and I don't want my audience making the association between adsense ads (proper) and these ones. The upside - It may initially prove productive - how is this mode of advertising defined in adwords ? is it content ? - either way, because it lives on G servers, and in G's neat categories, the higher paying ones are likely to be equally as present as lesser ones.. I'll be interested to hear a comparison.. but for me, I need the tracking, so I'll be staying with the ones I have. (The tracking BTW gives me the page and anchor txt of clickthrus). Cheers, JL
I am running them now. Used properly, I agree they will be productive. This kinda adds a spin on what G looks down upon. Buying and selling of textlinks. Are they not selling textlinks to AW users?
you probably forgot to copy the lower part of the script, the part with the link to the .JS file. Sometimes when I copy the code, the lower part doesn't make it. AmCy
Make a table and place the code in a table. Add border or background fill to the table...mission accomplished
Yeah, that'll work, but I'm not interested in bloating up my code with unnecessary tables. My pages are averaging 100K+ nowadays and that's bad enough. I don't want to scare of dialup users with even slower pages. Thanks for the suggestion. AmCy
Well, for example, my blog page is 115K, bloated up with all my shameless advertising & other links. Too big? I think so. But the page has everything I want on it and I'm not willing to give anything up. Adding a table to pretty-up the AdLinks code is certainly not an option. AmCy
Maybe you need to give Media Partners Bot a few minutes to re-spider the page and start showing the ads. .
Yup. I have to agree with you on that one. Let's all email them and let them know that the bold is no good. The more feedback they get about it the more likely it is that they'll fix it, IMO. AmCy
yeah, that's messed up ... BOLD GOOGLE ... lightweight ads seems reverse of the other formats to me! can't we jsut have the same ads as before minus the desc text?
I posted that suggestion over at WMW, lets see what the Googleguys think about it... at least the other webmasters seem to agree that it is ugly as hell
i don't give a ratz about it being pretty ... it's the fact that the emphasis is on Google ... not the advertisers! no offense
If I am devil's advocate here. TRUE STORY I run a business that sells online product. Each day I recieve daily phone calls from customers that have sworn they ordered XXXX from our company. When in fact they clicked a Google ad and thought they were still some how affiliated with our company. Maybe this is Google's attempt to draw a more defining line? I like the bold for this reason
