Brianna has had the best post on this thread yet! Short and to the point and can be verified to be true. Welcome to DP Brianna
Ok, I'm going to try and keep this short and simple. i think everyone is on the same page here anyway. when i keyword stuff google penalizes me when i link to bad neighborhoods google penalizes me when i buy 50,000+ links google penalizes me (bluefind, seoinc etc.) when i submit to google they penalize me? (wait...that doesn't make sense.. let me rephrase the statement. Google rewards sites that get found through links. (obviously as that is the nature of how link pouplarity works) so the new statement should read: Google rewards me for being found through links. (which everyone all ready knows..this is no secret) GOOGLE DOES NOT PENALIZES YOU FOR USING ADD URL... that is not the same as being rewarded for links. Examples -when you buy a child a toy you are rewarding him...he is not penalized when you don't buy him a toy (just not being rewarded) -when a child is being bad and you take away his toy he IS being penalized (because he IS doing something wrong) danny it's like you are saying a site is doing something wrong by using the add url, which is false... and please, no more cake analogies. that's all i have to say about that. -gump PS. there was a theory a while back that the ADD URL form was just a fake form to keep the community happy.... PPS. brianna, are you naked talking on the phone in your avatar?
Just a FWIW, but apparently G has recently changed its Add Url form to include the need for some human input. h**p://www.webmasterworld.com/forum30/29292.htm
You prove, once again, an amazing lack of ability at comprehending that which you read. I said I had proof. I provided two EXAMPLES. I never said I'd give the proof in this forum. Further, I've said the above more than once.
It is AT BEST a complete and absolute waste of time. I have more than just a few anecdotes that suggests it is worse than that. I am not the only one on this board that has said that G penalizes for using that form nor am I the only SEO professional making that statement. Have a party at your house with some five year olds. Invite ... oh, lets say ten kids. Buy only 9 presents. At the end of the party ask the one kid that didn't get a present what he thinks about him simply "not getting the reward". For the sake of discussion, lets assume you're right and there is no ACTUAL penalty. What that form is doing is getting people with little or no SEO experience to use it ... not realizing that the form is NOT the best way to go about it. Those people, after using the form, then return to their sites and continue working on it, happily thinking that Google will be giving them something resembling fair treatment. The reality is that the form is AT BEST a complete waste of time and because of that misleading in what it can provide a site owner.
My article was factually accurate. I have proof. I'm not going to give that proof in this forum. You can believe me, or not, I don't care.
danny, i don't want your 'proof' ... i just want you to change your article... in your article (http://www.seochat.com/c/a/Link-Trading-Help/How-to-Steal-to-the-Top-of-Google-part-2/) you state this change that to this and I (and many others) will be content "Don't use the 'Add URL' form with google. It is AT BEST a complete and absolute waste of time. It's much better for google to find you through links from other sites."
Yes I am naked in my avatar. I read somewhere that if I am naked using the Google "Add url" form, I will be crawled immediately and assigned a PR of 8. I have not seen any results yet, but am not giving up. Will let everyone know how it goes here. Bri
wow, that's crazy... i did the same thing when i submitted my site http://www.internet-jewelry-store.com ... google indexed it immediately and gave me a PR8 .... i guess danny really was wrong
I just had a vision of every DP forum member taking their clothes off and submitting their sites to Google. Not in Brianna's case (of course ) but in others that vision just left a traumatic impact upon me
