Well after many of these wierd occurances with google, I had to write and see if ppl are having problems with google rankings. 1- Has it happened that google drops your site to the last ranks after it being at ~100 for about 2 weeks, and then ranks it back at ~100 in the same day? (No nothing has changed in that day) 2- Are your incoming links being ignored and not counted? I have manually added close to 5k links pointing at my website and google seems to be able to read only 30 of them when I am lucky? 3- Do you do link:mywebsite.com and nothing comes up? Yet your website is a PR3 and doing a search with website name reveals plenty of websites linking to it? wtf? If anybody has come across any of these please share as this google retardation is becoming really frustrating RANT: why cant it just be straight forward => add incoming link - lower rank, why
do you have any idee how many times we ask ourself the same questions? i like to call this "Google dance"
google doesnt show all incoming links to protect you from other webmasters. They switch up what links they show all the time. if you want to check incoming links do it on yahoo.
you can also check your incoming links in google's "webmaster tools". You will get a more accurate count there
GOOGLE DANCE, I love it. What I learn is that incoming link doesn't show up all even less than before for me, but the ranking is better now!
Run a report on www.websitegrader.com and you will get a count of Yahoo and Google inbound links. Also, depending where the links came from, Google may have decided that the links were spammy...
That's what we called "Google Dance". Actually I'm quite happy when Google does not display all of my "link:site.com" results. If so, my competitors will know exactly what I'm doing to get there. For that I would give Google two thumbs up.
hi there..! Does happens..sometimes new site boost finishes off and site goes way back..sometimes its the Update going on, sometimes its the algorithm changes.. lots of factors there to define this one.. The links take time to be crawled, some pages might not be cralwed. Secondly, If u r using link: command to check that on google, its a waste of time, they will never show you complete set of links, only a fraction or small part of the links randomly chosen.. For complete link details, sign up at webmaster central of google, and you can see the complete links range there.. I assume you are doing this on google, like I said, Google will not show you the complete set of backlinks.. Better would be to check backlinks at yahoo or at webmaster central of google..shud clear up things for you then.. Dont worry n panic.. We all sometimes feel like all our SEO efforts are going into drain.. but in actual there are lots of uncontrolled factors which makes things slow.. Links building and SEO is all a patience job..dont lose it or you will stay behind its perfectly normal, Keep focussing on QUALITY of links then QUANTITY of links and you shall see your site come back.. Regards LKS
Nothing great about it, i have a website which is ranking on first page of google for the keyword which is fairly competitive but highly paying, still google is not showing any backlinks and the website is 6 months old
