I believe my site is in it because of 302 redirects. Funny thing is I don't have any built in my .htaccess. Now I'm trying to figure out why I'm getting them with the script I'm running. My site has been in this filter for about 3 weeks, and it's not the sandbox
whats 950 penalty? never heard before... can you elaborate more about this? appreciate if you can shared with all
I too have never heard of the -950 penalty and am quite curious. Could someone help out with explaining that first?
yep we think we might have hit this pretty badly a few weeks ago messing about with internal navigation whilst realigning the sites main theme. clipping it www.seoibiza.com/blog/2008/05/25/seo-experiments-google-950-filter-in-action/ slipping it www.seoibiza.com/blog/2008/06/17/onwards-upwards/ its a phrase related filter not a penalty, ie automatic and we were clear of it again in 4 weeks. what makes you think this is what it is, and what did you do to cause it?
well. may be its me who has suffered with this -1K at Google What i did, not sure if it does work for you, or some specific things, but still sharing. 1- i change my content as a whole for fresh content. main pages and all static pages connected to main. 2- making a privacy policy page. don't exactly know what i wrote 3- a term of service page 4- some new back links ,fresh and with full care. 5- wait for some 1 month. tell me if it works.
I haven't seen the sanbox penalty in a few years on my site but one time a site of mine was sandboxed for over 6 months. That was the main reason I started developing as many sites as possible. If you put all your eggs in one basket, Google can slap the heck out of you.
lol, are you sure of that? seriously now...anyone....all i read in that blog is about some changes that they made, nothing about what 950 is exactly..
OK, seriously now, I'm guessing his site has dropped from page one SERPs to #950 i think the penalty can be specific for keyword searches rather than a sitewide penalty, Google has slapped this penalty for some reason or another, the original poster thinks it could be because of 302 redirects. but there are many reasons why you could get a penalty, it could be from rapid/shady link building to a duplicate content penalty. the best way to overcome such a penalty is continue to build genuine backlinks and make sure your home has as much unique content as possible. (copyscape it) maybe someone has copied some of your content.
probably the best place to learn about what it actually is would be the million page ongoing thread at WMW or this short summary http://www.webmasterworld.com/google/3215939.htm
