You know I just noticed that Google still has the same 404 pages that they've had for years. I was trying to get to Google Docs through http://www.google.com/writer:confused::D

trying to access any rubbish subdirectory will give you a 404

    eg:
    google.com/thisthreadisstupid

    google.com/andsoareyou

    ..etc.

Yea but look at the logo, it's so old. The design of the 404 page alone is super OLD. You would think they would update is what I'm trying to say.

it's just a 404 page, what more should they do? Maybe add some backlinks back to Google lol. They kept it nice and simple without explaining the error so as not to scare the user.
