Google’s Tips and Tricks

Most of us use google, but there are some things that we don’t know about. Those things can make our lives easier. They save us so much time and effort. Try them out.
1. Google Dictionary: If you need to find the meaning of a word and you don’t have a dictionary next to you, you can use google to find the meaning. Go to google and enter in the search box the words :
Define:mobile
Or any other word you like to know the meaning of click on search. You will get related phrases, definitions, and links to websites that are related to the word you looked for.

2. Google Calculator: you can find the result of any formula on google. Try the following formula:
5*(2+3)
Click on search and you will get the result which is 25

3. Google Conversions : you can use google to make conversions for currencies, weights, time,…etc. Type in the search box :
usd in pounds
you will get the following result : 1 U.S.dollar = 0.640040963 pounds
Also you can type :
kg to lb
you will get the following result : 1 kilogram = 2.20462262 pounds
Also you can type :
seconds in a week
you will get the following result: 1 week = 604800 seconds.

4. Google’s Time: you can find the time in any city in the world. Type the following in the search box:
Time in London
You will get this result: 13:41 Wednesday ( GMT ) – Time in London UK

5. Google’s Local Movie Showtime: you can find what time is a movie broadcasted in a city. Type the name of the movie and the zip code for the city you want next to it. You will get the time.

6. Google’s Airline Flight Status: you can check the flight you want through google. Type in the search box :
American flight 47
You will get this result: From London ( LHR ) to Chicago ( ORD ) 1 Dec 2010 – On schedule. Departure: 2:15 PM , Arrival 4:55 PM

7. Google Search by site type: you can find only certain site types . Type what you want to look for and the type of site you want like the following:
space:edu
you will get all the results links end in .edu

8. Google Search by File Type: you can look for only certain type of files. Write the following in the search box:
network marketingdf
you will get all the results with PDF files.

9. Google’s Weather Forcast: you can find four days weather forecast by writing the name of the city you want to look into.
Weather paris
You will get four days forecast for the weather in Paris.

10. Google’s Phrase Search: you can find certain phrases by adding “ “ around the phrase. Like you can type the following in the search box:
“ network marketing”
All the results will have the exact phrase, not each word alone.

To find reviews and showtimes for movies playing near your place,the syntax is movie:your city name and state or zip code.

 

I didn't know some of the features before, thanks for sharing.
