it is very easy to know whether your site is indexed or not. just search the url of your website in google. If u have a google ID you have a host of webmaster tools that helps you in customising your site.

 

write your site address in the search query.

 

If your site was already indexed by search engine your site has the possibility to have rankings and be more visible to users.

does this have anything to do with the information it displays under your site link for your site. can you change what they have it say..? robot.txt by any chance

If the site above in your sig is yours then here it is in the INDEX of google.

basically said its a databse of all pages from your site that were gathreed by the spiders crawling your site.....
