So I tried running chitika for a month on one of my automotive websites. Long story short I was not impressed. First of all, my profits went down 100% from what I was making with adsense on the same site. Second, the page loading times went up with chitika's buggy code. And finally any profit that I did make, at the end of the month, was mysteriously audited to $0. So welcome back adsense! Sorry I ever doubted you
I agree, its not really one or the other. Chitika should not replace adsense, and vice versa, they should work together.
I think that best role for Chitika in a situation like the automotive one mentioned in this thread is, as another poster said, run them together, but make it a 90-10 ratio, with AdSense getting the lion's share. At the very least, it could help combat AdSense text ad blindness when something with a picture shows up every once in a while.
I have had the same experince. Chiquita ads just didnt cut it for me. I wish I could get yahoo ads here in canada. Until then adsense will have to do.
Even I tried Chitika but it does not work for me also. Also they have disabled counting of clicks from my own country India from which I get so much traffic. I will remove Chitika ads soon from my site. They sucks for me. Adsense is far better than Chitika!
As long as Chitika is not in 'contextual' mode, and you are using the keywords system, it is 100% ok.
