Hey Guy, I have a quick question. Does any know about good site for cheap flights ? I tried already all the big ones : travelocity, cheaptickets, orbitz, expedia... blah blah blah, and even the actual airlines. I'm planing to fly from Los Angeles (LAX) to Israel (TLV) in April and the tickets are sooo expensive (around $1,700 for decent flight with 1 stop) So if any one know about good site please let me know. Thanks, Jack
Always fly coach, the luxury isn't worth the price, that is unless you have to make a multi-day trip due to insane stopovers.
All I can say is: OUCH. That's why travel is going to be out of the question for me for quite some time.
check out flyertalk.com - there might be some people with some good advice for you there. It all depends on timing, but israel is a hard place to get to. You could do a mileage run for around the same price, then fly first class. Sometimes United has Chicago to Hong Kong for about $600 - which is about 25K miles round trip. 4 trips + mileage bonuses would be enough to get you into the 1K club, and you could fly first class to israel and have enough miles left over for another high dollar trip or two. Add to that you get first class for free just about every flight you get on. If you can spare a few weekends it is well worth it. The difference between how a 1K gets treated versus an average joe is ridiculous. I used to show up at Logan and they would have alternate flight plans laid out for me in case there was a delay. That and they would have free, ice cold beer waiting for me. Now those were the days...
Israel is an amazing place. I hope your planning on bringing me and cherry along, young man. Go on, you know you wannnnnnnnna

If you have a credit card, call them and ask them if you qualify for some sort of travel benefits. I use Travelocity for all of my flights and usually end up with a good price.
