Ok man when you have to go 40 miles one way to work you come talk to me about being a slave to oil. My job site changes every day to so there ain't none of this move closer to your job shit going to work on me. As a matter of fact this weekend the job is over 70 miles away one way.
Also I ain't the one that said anything about cutting food supply as a tactic to lower oil prices that was another person. The person that said something about UN food that has nothing to do with it. US food and UN food are two totally different entities.
Bringing down the oil price is simple: Take out American soldiers out of Iraq and tell bush to keep his mouth shut for 2 months and don't talk about starting new wars here and there and the price of oil will drop to $25 from $100. There is no shortage of oil, it is all the talk of war and uncertainty about future that pushes up the price of oil.
Ok man, then pay whatever the price is, be dependent on oil, fill their pockets, smile when your purchasing power is once again less than the previous month. Oh and before I forget, keep driving a vehicle that consumes like crazy (referring to your avatar, if that is what you drive). Not my problem. I'm fine without.
They'll send a notice back saying they'll sell to China and India instead. Did you know we get more Oil from Canada then from the whole middle east combined?
Why not buy only from the cheapest gas stations? Why is it not done already? How come that some very expensive gas stations are still in business? I am not responsible for Exxon/Mobil's high prices because I buy from Sunoco, much cheaper and better service. But it depends a lot on location, so having to travel to get cheap gas might not work.
Actually my truck in that avatar the transmission went in it and I have to put a new one in this spring. I am driving a Tempo right now. I buy cheap gas I don't know how exxon and mobil are still in business either.
In that case, be ready to pack all your mili bases over there. Nothing is going for free(read: aid). Thats for naive people.
Furure traders and making gas prices rise. Some oil companies buy oil and refine it they are not making as much right now with prices so high.
Theres no problems at all, do you know how much money and what technology needed to get a gas lets say in Siberia in -40 degrees at winter? Its not like making a car and 50 companies do that, most of the gas companies resell that gas. Plus, the gas isnt everywhere, if its on your territory, then you are lucky, like Russia, but even here the price is rising every year as well as petrol. The natural resources arent endless and they will only rise in price. I hope the Earth wont blast when we(people) will suck it to completion.
We have to question what is the carrying capacity of the world. In 1750 prior to the use of fossil fuels, the world population was 794 million. Today the world pop. is 6.6 billion and growing. Can we sustain this population without oil?
The capacity of the solar system is much better than earth. Something estimated enough to make a hundred trillion humans multi-billionaires (by todays' standards). China knows whats up, they're plotting permanent human settlements. I figure as long as we don't drive ourselves extinct before we get outta this place, we'll be OK for a long time.
of course we can. oil is only one of many fuels. if people didn't make such vast amounts of money from fossil fuels we would all be running our cars on hydrogen and getting electricity from nuclear plants. Two completely clean forms of energy that we have been capable of producing for years.
nuclear energy is really shitty IMO. It's expensive and very risky to produce and it leaves behind all that radioactive material. We should focus on solar, wind power and all those alternative ways of producing electricity.
unfortunately, I highly doubt an inexpensive alternative fuel source will ever emerge. there's about as much chance of that happening as an allopathic cure for cancer being "discovered". it won't happen. corporations own you and the elitists own the corporations, they're gonna make sure you pay every damn nickel and dime your worth and when you're done they'll seek your pennies too. the only hope is to limit government enough to allow the free marketplace to compete for it.
