I usually dont Adsense police for the lack of time. However, I just had to mention this one. You'd think a huge trafficed website like good-tutorials.com would optimize their adsense positions better. But instead they choose to rotate ads in an iframe (shown in green) and ask for CLICKS! On top of that they have like 2 popups. http://www.good-tutorials.com/new/7/10/
Next week, the Website owner will complaining that Google banned him for clickfraud. He'll swear he wasn't involved in any. Heard it too many times.
Thats surprising. From what I have seen the owner of good-tutorials.com really seems to know what hes doing. Could just be an honest mistake.
Oh man, you're stirred up a hornet's nest! You've made me register in yet another forum! Anyway... no bad feelings or anything. I was referred to this thread by a nice SitePoint member, and I thought I'd explain things. First of all, I'm not a cheater or anything Evil like that. And it was an honest mistake. Here's the thing. As a note for all of you who want to do massive redesigns and recodings, the worst part about doing it is if you're moving around your ad inventory it _sucks_. It took me about two hours to move networks around, and mostly the pain was in moving my defaults around. There's still a few glitches I have to take a look at in regards to this. To be honest I didn't think I was running Google ads in a rectangle- I think that's a wayward default from my previous version and it just didn't get removed in this current version, which is why it's not targeted to my page and which is why it's showing really weird ads. The "Click Here" to me seems like it's some sort of bug- I know in a few networks I'm in (I think Burst! Media does this and possibly FastClick) they add "Click Here" to their alt tags and other places in their code- I'm assuming it was a carryover from that code that somehow got stuck in with this. So yes, it was an honest mistake. You try recoding your entire code base in another language, adding a new design and reworking your ad inventory without any glitches! INV- I haven't removed it yet, but I'm going to look into why the heck it's showing AdSense in my rectangles there right after I click to post my reply. Thanks for those of you who did say those kind words and thought I wasn't totally stupid. I would have preferred to keep this in an email, but seeing as it's here I figured I'd pop in and post a reply. Besides, the point is that I found out about it anyway, so thanks regardless, INV. Have a good one, everyone! I suppose now that I have an account I'll stick around for a bit and see what this forum's all about.
Sure enough, found a couple of stray defaults that I just happened to miss. Actually the fact that I dug through it helped me fix another minor problem I've been having as of late. Things should be working smoothly right now. Thanks again for catching this.
Cheers to that! Many of us enjoy your website and are huge fans. Just happy to see everything is well. Thanks for clearing that up!
hm... hmm - no. It looks like he is banned now, because there are only "Ads by Yahoo" now. (maybe Adsense-Boosting) And other big Advertisements much. I thought it already before.
Nah! I visit Good-tutorials.com quite frequently so I can be sure that he did not have the word "click here" above tha ads b4. I beleive his explaination. I dont think he gets banned Wally! just random the ads between Yahoo and Google.
