Hello, I'm looking for cheap webhosting but hosting from a company that has been around for more then a year. I have gotten ripped off by the "unmetered" hosting and right now im just looking for a host to be able to host a couple websites, not have to worry about my bandwith, and know your not going down in a couple months Thanks for your time, Brander
We've been around for about 3 years as a registered business entity. We own all of our own servers in 2 datacenters (325 Hudson St, New York, NY & 5851 West Side Ave, North Bergen, NJ). Our hosting plans are a bit pricier than you'll find with the "unlimited" and "unmetered" crowd, but with hosting you need to make a profit to survive. With what you've mentioned you'll probably be well off with our shared hosting plan. If you have any questions please let me know. You can also contact for direct assistance.
Let me tell you that most companies that offer either unlimited or unmetered bandwidth, low yearly costs or one time costs are often unreliable. If you want true quality hosting, look for one that doesn't oversell and pay a decent reasonable price for it. After all, you get what you paid for.
Since you are looking for a site that's "not going down in a couple months" you should look for a host that has been around for many years with many clients. Where did you find your last hosting that disappeared?
Hello, If you want reliable web hosting, you should not stick to this forum. At WHT there are lots of trustworthy web hosting companies, so you should check there. Best of luck!
Well my hosting is reliable, and U get 1 on 1 help with everything on your site when you join seedhost.info
Just do not want to start a blame game here, but how can you think a host is reliable who has a cheap $1.5 .info domain and run on oversold master or alpha or whatever resellers they are called ? And no decent host will allow you to host nulled scripts or illegal data on their servers if they want to be in business for long. So check 1) Domain (WHOIS helps you a lot) 2) Allows Illegal Data or Not - If they allow, move away 3) Offers Unlimited Space / Bandwidth / Pay once for Life time Hosting Plans* - Move away. 4) Ask for a Test Server IP and try to resolve the HOST Name. Usually this should get you lot of information 5) Last but not least, look for some reviews. Google is your friend here *We never know whose life time it is Good Luck in your search.
You are 100%WRONG!!!!! Basically what you are saying is hostgator seeing as how they offer unlimited hosting is unreliable even though they are a bigger company then you will ever be in your lifetime. All you are trying to do is put down other companies to try to make yours look good. Well this is an overplayed method that only makes you look greedy. The real reason that companies are unreliable and often run away are because they are run by kids that have no real knowledge on running a business and the aspects that go with it. OP I really think what you need if you are looking for a very reliable company is one that pays its takes under a real registered business name. You can always try hostgator if you like cpanel because they have lots of good reviews and 1and1 but I have read there control panel often sucks but there hosting is reliable. Cheers!
Did I specifically target HostGator? Did I mention HostGator anywhere in my post? I did I say ALL companies that offer unlimited/unmetered hosting is unreliable? No. Please read the entire post first. I also did not even mention my own company or my own services anywhere in my own post. I'm just posting what I feel is right. Look around all the "companies" here on DP offering unlimited/unmetered hosting for a measly $10/year (just using as an example). If you say this is reliable then by all means, go for it. Just don't complain when they end up shutting down, running away with your money or even your site's content or any data you've uploaded onto their servers. I highly recommend WHT, it's a much better resource for web hosting and offers. Sorry but I'm nowhere near 100% wrong. I'm just trying to give good advice.

[....][/QUOTE] HostGator are a big company = Hosts on DP = Small E.g. to make "unlimited offers" work, you need money to sustain the business, which HostGator at the start, started of with, whereas hosts on DP usually find their money via their own jobs leasing $140 dollar servers out per month. - Selling for $10 per year. In business terms or accounting, you won't be able to sustain that, which is why many hosts on DP crash and burn, which is what the guy you was quoting was pointing out.
