Can someone recommend me a good server firewall. Though Im currently using APF at the moment but I think its not that strong enough. By the way my server uses cPanel
APf is not actually the firewall. Well it is, but it isn't. Ill explain. Within most ( all ) linux distro's the firewall is based upon iptables. Iptables is just like a big ACL - Access Control List. APF - Controls this ACL. Advanced Policy Firewall. - Its about the best firewall you can have, however there is better available. Check out ConfigServer's Firewall and the other scripts available. http://www.configserver.com/cp/csf.html What you want to be worrying about is your internal security (PHP, system binaries and changes of configurations ) I highly recommend you get a server administrator, it will save you a lot of stress money and time. Good luck
I would suggest Config Server Firewall then. Its pretty robust, and easy to customize: http://configserver.com/cp/csf.html
Why not some Cisco external firewall? No need for iptables or other software firewall if the external one is configured properly.
Can you explain me why I'm not using iptables even though external firewall is present? Can you explain why it's like this almost 2 years without any problem??? Can you? Do some research before you post such ... hm... you know what.
