Hi DPers, I need some advice. My site ranks pretty well for 3-4 keywords on google.com but at the same time the rankings for the same keywords on google.co.uk and .ca are not good at all. any suggestions on how to improve rankings on .co.uk and .ca ? thanx in advance
Do local classifieds submissions for the both the countries, Search in Google.ca for --> free classifieds canada or free classifieds toronto and you can search with many more cities name from canada... Search in Google.co.uk for --> free classifieds UK or free classifieds london and you can search with many more city name from united kingdom... I am sure you will get good results. Best of luck.
Try to get relevant back links from .co.uk and .ca domains will helps you sure. Local directories and classifieds submissions will produce better results.
Yes links for .co.uk and .ca websites will help.. But the main reason for big difference in SERP for defferent region is your hosting provider, i am sure you hosting server is somewhere in US, due to that you are getting some priority on Google.com (US)...
Hi Friend I am Facing Same Problem in G.co.uk so We are Best trying to submit my sites in Some UK Directories and Classifieds. also try to submit Comments in related site and some quality sites of .co.uk. Thanks John
Try to get links from UK and Canadian websites (i.e. web directories, classifieds and press releases)
buy link on .co.uk .ca or if .co.uk is more important change ip to uk ip if you dontget sites to buy or place links on .co.uk sites just go a head na register some domains .co.uk host on uk ip make them blogs make good content link to your site or if you cant afford try to get some free blog hosting site .co.uk and build links Good luck
Definitely exchange links with uk or canada related sites. Also try your best to publish articles focused to those region, however, don't try and manipulate your rankings by publishing out of the blue articles. You might get penalized. If your site has content specific to those countries google will automatically do justice on you, and if you don't have relevant contents, it will be really foolish to expect you getting ranked in uk or ca against your competitors whose primary focus are those region. Best of luck anyway.
I believe the actual web page's age itself is more of value than just the domain name; many in my field might disagree. Now, is your site geared to a specific region? If yes you might want to consider using geo-targeting in Google Webmasters Central. Also, consider getting backlinks from sites located in these regions; they don't need to use a ccTLD extension but should be hosted there.
That's odd, for some reason I only get results from .co.uk and .ca but I am trying to get traffic from .com lol
Google had some problems with English language sites and identifying whether it is a BE or AE or CE or whatever English "version" you can think of. If you would like to appear in g.co.uk rather than g.com try specifying this int google webmaster central
