The "SEO book" by Aaron Wall is good.. Check www.seobook.com. I have PDF of this book and the info is really good, worth reading.. Njoy,
thanks for that if it were it probably would not be as good unless I used it to up-sell some corporate SEO services, and in that case if it were a sales letter in disguise the quality would falter from that changed motive
Hi awall, Nice to see u here.. The book is good.. Good Work.. But i cannot agree with u fully about quality of FREEBIEs. I use lot of free utilities which are as good as their equivalents. Happy New Year.. Njoy
I did not state that freebies are garbage. In fact I use many freebies and give lots of stuff away (see all the free tools at tools.seobook.com for example). I just don't think it would be worth the effort for someone to try to write something as in depth as my ebook, update it frequently, and then give it away. Where is the alternative biz model that puts legit value on my time? I could give the book away and then sell software I guess. I also don't think everyone needs to buy the ebook. Some of my posts cover similar content as what is in the ebook and I give all the blog posts away. When people buy the book they are buying it for its freshness, comprehensiveness, and the linear format of it.
Personally, I prefer the third edition of Mike Grehan's book. Oh - wait a second. While Grehan has been selling upgrade rights to the "due soon" third edition for a year and half now, he's never actually bothered to write a third edition. Silly me. Seriously, and transparent promotional trolls aside, what are the best SEO books out now?
I have always been curious on what is inside these books. What I think is everything in these books can be found on DP, Sitepoint, Highrankings, ect. There isnt much to SEO at all. Just follow some basic guidelines and you are there. The only tuff part is finding your niche and I know for a fact that isnt in any book because no one would tell you.
Your right on that, for a purely SEO book. I think getting to know your "enemy" is way important too. I found that "The Google Story" and "The Search" are two that help with a deeper understanding of the motive behind what happens at the big 3. That I think has helped me more than just reading a book about SEO. Of course without SEObook the other two would have just been good stories.
Does this book go beyond the basic title tag, keyword research, H tags, and back linking stuff. I buy a lot of ebooks and 9 out of 10 are just padded with the "basics". Does this book go into more of the advanced stuff?
I'll go with that. I bought Aaron's SEO book ages ago and found it to be a great value buy. It isn't free and it isn't the cheapest ebook you'll find but to my mind it's the best one I've read on the subject. Well worth the investment because that's what it is ... an investment of money against all the time it would take you to assimilate the information.
