Does anyone on this forum have any good experiences in hosting a logo design contest? If so, which site, or sites, are the best? Also, does anyone have any advice on what to consider when trying to decide on the winning logo design?

You can host a contest right here on DP. When considering a winner you would look for the design that would fit most with your brand and site design.

Contests are demeaning to the designer. No serious professional would ever enter one.

You can try to host the logo contest in this forum. Look for the "design contest" section in this forum. It has a good response for the contest.

I suggest you specific your logo design as details as possible. Otherwise, you unlikely to get what you want. If you have totally no idea about your logo, I would recommend you to hire a logo designer. Think about the logo contest as a way to polish and enhance your logo. (most likely you will not get a creative and unique logo due to they are referring to each other designs and short time for designing the logo.)

The logo obtained through logo design contest is as not professional as hiring logo designer. It is because winning a contest is highly depend on luck and number of entries. Professional logo designer would not go for logo contest because it is a waste of time for them. They get a better deal for getting a real client.
