This will be down to linkbuilding and directory submission. SOmone has done this as http://www.etctetc.com
    A bad thing.

Always focus on the domain without the www.
    Redirect http://www as a 301
Ensure that all future articles directories etc are focussed on the domain less the www.

Try placing the following code in your .htaccess file for non WWW to WWW 301 redirects

or the following for WWW to NON WWW redirects

Use either one but NOT the both to avoid duplicate contents.

You have URL canonicalization issues. You should have one and ONLY one URL for referring to any given page on your site called the canonical URL for that page. All other URLs which can be used to refer to that same page (the non-canonical URLs) should be 301 redirected to the canonical URL.

You will definitely want to fix this, preferably with 301 redirects. If not corrected, it will lead to duplicate content and split page rank issues.

Pick the one you like the best... Personally I like www. best. I think most users expect to see www in their browser even though they probably type in the non-www more often out of laziness.

It doesn't matter which you pick. Just pick one as your canonical version and 301 redirect the non-canonical version to the canonical. The search engines will take care of the rest.
