    Good books are great....

    I mean I use forums pretty much everyday.. but I still think books are really helpful.. I just have had no luck with online marketing books... thanks for the general theory on marketing books.. I guess online marketing books are not big. I was considering getting some psychology books so thanks.

    Yeah, books are a waste of time. They are the worst.

    Seth Godin and other such good marketing/advertising authors are a waste of time too. They wrote books, so they HAVE to be, right?

    *shakes head in disbelief* Amazing. ... Simply amazing.

    A great book is "Moonlighting on the Internet" by Yanik Silver. It came out last November. You will love it.

    Forget books! Who needs competence when you can have confidence? Who would you rather have piloting the airplane you're in -- a competent airline pilot who's done years of studying on aviation and high-end mathematics, or a confident guy off the street who's watched Top Gun 402 times?

    The choice is obvious. People who prepare by doing their homework prior to engaging in a signifcant project clearly don't know what they're doing.

    I didn't say DON'T READ BOOKS, I said they're the worst way to learn.

    It's like this
    Books/Text -> Audio -> Audio&Video -> Full Body Immersion (seminars & being there physically)

    What does books being the worst way to learn and Dani Johnson have to do with confidence instead of competence? Maybe we're confident because we're competent, hmm?

    mia, keep in mind that not everyone learns the same way. Many people learn best by reading. Others learn best by doing and immersing themselves in something. Still others learn best visually by watching someone else do something or through auditory methods like hearing lectures. There's no such thing as a best or worst way to learn. There's no need to criticize the OP's preferred method for learning. If they want to learn about other types of programs, they'll ask about them. But in this case, they're asking about reading material. :)

    Exactly, someone might want to read books to learn and some might want to just dive in first hand and experience and learn themselves. Some might even want an audio tape playing.

    One thing you should always do is take notes about the subject you are learning.

    Although it is kind of pricey at about $200 "Internet Marketing Tips" by the Internet Marketing Center is over 100pages and would keep you busy learning about internet marketing for a long time.

    To back this up, I have heard lots of great things about the Internet Marketing Center (IMC). I have a co-worker that's subscribed to their site and he always comes out with great articles/content on internet marketing.

    Again I didn't say books were bad way to learn or that you can't, just that they aren't the BEST way for you to learn because you can be easily distracted by other things.

    I got negative rep that called me an idiot, lmao. :) Lighten up guys!
