good on MSN, bad on Yahoo and Google

    Hi there,

My site is about online for about 3 months. Only recently Google started to show one backlink.

But on MSN it appears on first page for many keywords. Not on Yahoo and Google. MSN bot also shows 3 times more traffic than other bots.

Any ideas what can be done for Yahoo and Google?

    Thanx alot.

3 months will get you nowhere on Google...Sandbox is at least 8 months for HV keywords...

Google: Just add BL's from hell during this period, you have nothing to lose while in the box.

    Yahoo: Add content, content, content...

Yahoo is slow and can take 3 months or more to rank a site. Google has a filter refered to as the sandbox. The sandbox will keep a new site from ranking for over a year sometimes. While waiting you best bet is to keep getting inbound links.

For Yahoo I used AMkiller ideas: RSS + My Yahoo described here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=7359 and it worked very well. My main keyword is #1 in Yahoo, #36 in MSN and N/A in Google.

It didn't happen in a day but I saw slurp crawling like crazzy since I did that. An other site I didn't RSS+MyYahoo is crawled by yahoo but at much a lower pace.

Let me know if it works for you.

I have seen new sites get crawled real quick by all three SEs. How quickly they rank a new site is a different story.

6-9 weeks for ranking or indexing? Ranking in Yahoo, possibly, in Google, not likely.

Don't bet your site will remain on the first page of msn either.
My site was listed at the top for several good keywords at msn.
But then it got kicked out from the top, and pushed back to 30 or 40
    a week ago.
I think msn is doing some restructuring of their algorithm..

Things are starting to come back. They just might be finished with the Algo update.

As far as link development, here's a breakdown:

Google - Age factor on links. Get lots of one-way links, with anchor text, various C class ip addresses, older site links, site with lots of pages in index.

Yahoo! - They really like one-way links. You can accomplish some good rankings just by submitting to some paid directories and getting one-way links. You'll be on top 1-3 months.

MSN - All they like is anchor text. Doesn't matter reciprocal or not. Just got a ton (or a few) with your anchor text. Fastest competitive word I've ranked for: 3 days.

    Hope that helps! :)
