Good News For NameCheap Users

I submitted a ticket with NameCheap about a separate issue, but asked if they would be lowering the cost of domain renewals in response to competition. When you buy a NEW domain, you get free WhoIsGuard, plus you can always find a NameCheap coupon code online and get a discount. Come renewal time, it's $9.29 plus $2.88 for WhoIs. There's no real incentive to stay with NameCheap, especially when you have lots of domain names! Well, I just got this response back from NameCheap:

"As we are becoming our own domain registrar, we will infact be reducing the rates in the near future."

    Yeah! :D

Nice. I have always used NameCheap for their cheap registration prices, however their renewals prices have always been a turn down. It would be good if they also included the Whois guard for renewals.

They got ICANN Accreditation a couple of months back.

Good to hear the news though :)
