Obtain links from local websites. For example, if you had a .com.au to target the Australian market, you would get links from other .au sites. I've been told that getting local hosting helps as well, but I don't think this is a necessity.
There are three factors that contribute: - The location of your IP address (so where your hosting's based) - Your domain name and domain registrant details - The number of links you have from known local sites The links can far outweight the power of the first two though. Concentrate on getting good, local links and you'll get there.
