I was wondering if it was a good idea to purchase an ecommerce turnkey site. Any past and/or present experiences with these types of sites?

What are the pros and cons? Is it profitable?

Ideal if you have a small budget, slim coding or html knowledge and not a lot of custom features needed. Most cart software/web solutions are flexible on features or they can be customized - so definitely worth it.

If you have the money to purchase a turnkey website, buy it. The main idea behind turnkey websites is that they did all the hard/dirty work for you. If you're going to start up a website from scratch, do expect a profit right away, and it'll be hard getting the website up and running.

From my past experiences with clients, they have been very satisfied with turnkey websites and found it much more easier to start making a profit - since the business is already up and running.

If you are interested in any turnkey websites, please PM me, I can recommend some websites in my portfolio that are making a good amount of money.

You can also find some great offer for fast and easy customizable ecommerce service, with web hosting included, An all in one solution and sometimes is also very cheap.

You just need to be very careful that what you are buying is legit and not some sloppy thrown together project that ends up being loaded with bugs and no tech support. Instead I would recommend setting up your own store by using an open source package. The advantages there are:
    - It's free
    - There's generally an extensive online community to help you with any problems setting it up or fixing any problems that may exist.
    - Usually easy to deploy.
    - Most of the maintainers release frequent updates with new features and fixes to problems.

    Some recommendations are Opencart, Magento.
