Hi there. My friend is seeking a good HTML book that will introduce him to the world wide web and introduce him to HTML coding. He would like this book to be great for the beginner, as he is one, but also be a good resource for him when he grasps the information. Several years ago I used the "HTML Goodies" by Joe Burns to help me learn HTML. I thought it was great, it's very easy to understand even for a total newbie. It's been a long time since I read it so I don't know if there is better stuff available now.
HTML Goodies is still available, but much of its information is about a decade out of date, or promotes bad programming practices. HTMLDog.com is a good introduction. After that, I would recommend the HTML Specification.
