tfbpa AND eddieteo , thanks for sharing info. But how much %commission you get in flights alone from Travelocity and Expedia?
See their websites... http://www.wctravel.com/corp/compensation.html = $5 for domestic US flights, $10 for international flights + OptiFee Expdia: don't know, cannot find their rates and haven't worked with them before. Hotels/Travelnow/IAN: don't know, cannot frind their rates and have forgotten them Even this shows that Travelocity/WCT is much better, they show their rates to everybody, instead of being secretive about it.

tfbpa, thanks again. Regarding Opti-fees - I guess It is similar to mco charges. Often customers balk and deny additional $1 to $10 and more so, as per WCT customers credit card will be shown as our business a/c. That means signing up with merchant bank, paying transactions and monthly fees plus the reconciliation of small change and charge backs, you think it is worth it. I guess you may have been doing a for a long time, what do you say about this?
A long time ago I did some tests to see if I had more bookings with opti-fee turned off and to my surprise it didn't make any difference. But that might have to do with the market I am in. Another but is, that the opti-fee costs are not visible for their Save/Hot/Preferred rates. When people book those hotels, the opti-fee is included in all other charges, so they can never know if and how much they pay extra. As for the merchant account, that is not necessary as I don't have one and I still get paid. Maybe I misunderstand you, but the way it works is that the customers pay WCT and WCT pays me. Maybe you mean that your company name is visible on the customers credit card statements, but that is just that, only your company name is shown, the customers still pays WCT directly.
Agree with tfbpa. When opti-fees were implemented several years ago, I did not implement it. In fact, WCT will tell you I was one of those who were against it. After about a year, I decide to try implementing it. Like tfbpa, I did not notice any noticeable drop in the nos of bookings. BUT, the nos. of cancellations definitely dropped! Although WCT allows you to adjust the opti-fees, I find the default serves me quite well. I get my booking comms and I get the booking fees, I am happy with them.
