Good Google and Yahoo positions, not enough hits

    I have a keyword with 30.000 searches a month(overture).
There are 196.000.000 results in Google

    My ranks are follows:
    Google UK: #2
    Google: #13
    Yahoo UK: #1
    Yahoo: #5
    MSN UK: #1
    MSN: #39 from some reason

What must my average hits from these serps?
I am getting like 600-700 hits a day from search engines which looks too slim for me as thats not the only keyword, my visitors are coming from. I have dozens of more competitive keywords I rank well for.

Thanks a bunch for your responses in advance

30,000 searches per month divided by 30 days equals only 1000 searches per day and you share those couple of front pages with 20-40 other sites. If you are getting anywhere near 600-700 hits per day you're doing pretty good percentage wise.

Maybe the description of your site sucks(not appealing to potential widget buyer) and turns people off?

I read a post about what ROAR is talking about. I cannot find the link, but it basically says that even though you have a #1 ranking, you still have to make the visitors WANT to click the link, so that is where marketing comes into play. If you have a boring description, they may not click it. You have to make your description interesting...

I do not know what your site is, so I am not talking about you personally, I am just giving you something to think about ;)

wierd to rank well in yahoo, google, but not msn.

keep in mind overture is primarly yahoo so I guess you should be getting 600-700 from yahoo alone

however sometimes overture is off and lets say for example your site was about the world cup, it would have more searcers a few weeks ago as compared to now. Is the keyword about an event or a yearly activty which has no pased so not searched as often

There is no need to keep it confidential so the keyword is 'online dating service', which is being hit daily by web users. I rank also good for 4-5 very competitive keywords. Maybe considering keyword optimization, it's not that approachable but i cannot decide that. the link is in my signature and you know the keyword. what do you think about my title and description is it not calling to action?

You are getting plenty of visitors for your current rankings.

Try and bump that Google ranking up in top the top 3 and you will get plenty more!

most people use google.com, so you need to get on the first page there to get a real good boost in traffic i guess.

Absolutely, ranking in the top few positions on google.com will be worth more then any other rankings on any other of the engines you're currently ranking on combined probably.
