    That comment was made AFTER I said about my bet.

    I'm being open with you when I say I'm not bothered by what script you use as long as its right for you and you don't get duped into getting into something your not aware of. (read above).

    You'll soon realize that this forum in particular is know for jumping on your trying to push a certain script down new posters throats. I'm not the only one who thinks it just the only one with balls to say it. If you do get around to using our script then your welcome, if not then good luck regardless.

    Oh, btw, if your read enough of the posts on 'free directory scripts' and the way they nearly always lead you'll see what I'm on about, you'd be amazed at how desperate some script owners are.

    Maybe you can enlighten us on why you feel it is the best. The features etc that you may want to highlight so that we know what to look for too.

    Yes, it would leave phpld out wouldn't it if he was to use the one with the most features, but my bet is still live. ;)

    I already said I had ruled out ESyndicat

    I withdraw my bet :) No wonder JamieG is so confident in phplynx, I just tried out the free version, impressive and nearly blown me away! I guess those without experiences on the other scripts for eg the likes of me, shouldn't be commenting too much just basing on experiences with one script. At least you are smart enough to test out the rest :)

    Do let us know your decision, I am quite curious about it. Cheers!

    Thanks Wisdomtool, I'm glad you've had a chance to look as its always best to before making assumptions that one is better than another without knowledge of both. A bit like saying one car is better than the other but only test driving the one. :):)

    @simonspurr;
    Not a cent in my case, our free script is free and the support is free. I don't make templates so others may make money but I won't. You won't need to modify anything as it has most of the features other scripts charge for. Admittedly the paid version is even better and now we're going open source in the next couple of days, (possibly tomorrow) the script is going to get even better.

    This is not the case with other scripts hence the desperation often seen with the clear over-promotion. As Wisdomtool said, it might be good idea to try and compare by test driving them both, that way even if you choose the one with the weaker features you'll have done so as a result of your own choice and not due to forceful promotion.

    Hi,

    Please check the demo of esyndicat omega. Lots of features and we offer free upgrade later if you need additional functionality that does not exist in free version

    Thanks An0n, I was a little worried about this one the lack of 'Easy Patch and Upgrades applier'. What does that mean? Would you know or should I wait for them to explain? I thought patch meant if there was a bug or something?

    Before making such ludicrous statements why don't you compare the features of the script you mention with other free scripts, one for example being in my sig and see which one comes out on top. :rolleyes:

    I think the most important thing when building a free directory is the amount of mods and templates that are free to use with your free directory script.

    That's why i run phpLinkDirectory free version on most of my directories. Considering they plan to launch a new free version (2.2.0 see here) i would give it a try.

    Wrong, the most important thing is not to have to need the mods in the first place if there is a script out there that already has them?
