Good Forums, but no PR?

    Hi

I know there are some great PR8+ forums around, but I have noticed when you click on a thread the PR goes to zero!

Does this mean there is no point in commenting on these as Google does not rank that thread or page at all?

    I am a bit confused!

    Thanks

According to me, its not much benefit but thousands pr0 link can make big.

(Even most of threads of dp forum have 0 pagerank but it gives you benefit because each page was linked with good pr page like homepage or category page of forum and forum server ip will be other than your site ip.)

And you will get user traffic as side-effect. :)

I have a doubt, does each page of a site have different page rank ?
I thought the page rank is common is for a site.

Yes PR can alter through a site. The homepage almost always has the highest PR, then the sub pages have a lower PR.

The back link juice you get from a forum link should equate to that forums PR as a whole. Even if your link is on a PR0 page, one would assume that you will have more than one post at the forum in question and so a kind of aggregate builds up over time. And back link juice will flow, as to the value of that juice, who can really say.

But if it’s traffic you are hoping to gain, well that is a different matter. I find as rule links at other forums just do not deliver. The subject matter of both forums would have to be very close in order to have any meaningful traffic generation… For instance I have over 100 posts here and do have a link in my SIG, and if I where to look at my logs I would be lucky to find 30 visits from that link. People come here for Website stuff, and not to diverted off to some fools site..

So while a backlink at a good forum may give some juice, I don’t think it will deliver good traffic.
