good ecommerce site for selling candles

Looking for a good e commerce solution for a candle, skin care business that my girlfriend is starting.

It needs to be a full website/commerce solution, but be affordable.

Doubt candles are a huge revenue stream.

    Thanks

Think the best thing to do is if you or your gf is not doing already is to sell on sites like facebook, create a business page and sell your candles etc through the page, join buy and sell pages to promote your page and get orders through them, iv seem many candle business pages and all are getting orders, if the candles are home made then you can sell on www.etsy.com.

Once you start getting a customer base then start creating your website, Opencart.com is the best e-commerce solution in my opinion, keep using the other outlets to sell your products but redirect your customers to your online store through business cards.

    Hope that helped a bit.

    That was very helpful. Thanks.

Is there a website/shopping cart solution you would recommend or does opencart fit that?

Prestashop has gotten a bit better I had fiddle with it yesterday. Having said that, Magento is an enterprise level solution but has a bit of a learning curve. OpenCart is the next option in terms of features and support. If you are branding something, like the candle biz you apparently have going, I would go with magento or open cart. You may need a bit of assistance to get it off the ground but if you can weed your way through microsoft office, most competent devs. will teach you what you do along with provide the site assistance.

If I had to venture a guess I have demos of all 3 running currently if you want to see the back end.

If you have any questions feel free to ping me via PM. I do this stuff non stop daily. Happy to steer you in the right direction.

    hope that helps,
    Nigel

If she is just starting I would recommend etsy.com . everything is hosted and listing fees are very affordable.
