Hello, New to to forum.... looking to discuss some topics with others in the digital marketing industry. Basically, I'm faced with having to make the decision on Rich Media hosting for our campaigns... and I'm conflicted, do we really need it? The case is we want to better co-promote content within our own website through unused inventory. Our ad planning team however is saying if we go over 40kb file sizes, we need to pay an 3rd party rich media hosting vendor around $0.80 CPM. The question ends up trying to find out if a display MPU 300x250 is really crap at 40kb but could be amazing at 100kb? I'm struggling to understand the limitations of 40kb, and not really getting any good answers... Thanks and looking forward to discussing!
I know a little bit about the ad serving industry, and I think it's lame you would have to pay more. The industry standard ad server, DFP, only starts charging higher CPM's at well over 100kb I'm pretty sure... Also, if this is for unsold inventory why would you even consider it?
