    Hi Guys,

What sort of conversion rate should I be looking for out of my campaign? What is regarded as a good conversion rate?

You want a conversion rate as high as possible. 100% percent is the max and would be nice but nobody gets that, even in the real world. I've gone into a restaurant and got out without buying for example.

There are many variables that come into play for conversions but the main one is your offer. If you can't quickly and easily convince someone to buy, they'll go next door. Most on the Internet do a poor job of this and the average is somewhere around 1%, the last figures I heard. Part may also have to do with the fact that's it's so easy and fast to find the next offer. But I've had clients with overall averages of 5% and many with rates of 10 to 15% on some items.

A good conversion rate I agree is around 1% but some people get a lot higher. It's kind of a difficult question to answer because the conversion rate depends a lot on the keywords you are attracting .... good keywords high conversion rate. The next part then is your offer.

I find conversion rates really depend on the type of traffic and what your advertising. Your ovious goal is to have the best conversionr ate possible eg. 1:1 :p

We have our current conversion rate around 25%. And I think after studying conversions and cost/conversion for a couple of ads for a week or so pause the ads with low conversions so the ads with higher conversion rate will show more often and we get a higher conversion rate.

Really it depends on your cost basis.

Cost of Product + Advertising spend + Operation Costs + ... < Revenue.

That said, minimum of 1% should be what you're chasing, preferably much higher...and all ya'll talking about 100%...it's not attainable so why bother discussing it?

I have a client who was spending £1-3,000 per top keyword/phrase per month and his conversion rate was poor. After coming to me he has now cancelled most of these phrases as I have got him there organically (I am currently working on his remaining phrases now) and he has already admitted to me that his hit rate is about the same but his conversion rate is a lot higher now too. You need to work out what you are spending, or considering spending per month on Adwords and weigh that against investing in someone who specialises in getting you there organically if you want better conversions ;-)
