I have to convert a site into a content managed site next week, I'm going to use Wordpress as its the only CMS that I have any experience with. Are there any other solutions that are quick to learn?
joomla is the best but not that easy to master. So, if time is important, WP is the best out there. Only issue I see is - you need to keep upgrading and or get hacked. There are lots of people who just want to hack wp sites.
I use WordPress and Joomla. Joomla works differently from WordPress in that you set up the Sections and Categories BEFORE you populate them with articles. But once you catch on it's pretty easy.
There are too many open source CMS available each have its own features, you can found most of them here You can check the user ratings and User Comments for each CMS, that will give you some experience.
I am developing something with this for a client who requires very simple content management. No database involved, it stores pages in xml files but its screaming fast and very easy to use and style. The design is separate from the logic bits. http://get-simple.info/ and a tad bit more involved would be http://www.cmsmadesimple.org/ I think the first link is better for developing a standard website. hope that helps, Nigel
Hello, My favorite would be Lanius. Still a few kinks they need to work out. Sometimes the "Downloads" and "galleries" features do not work. But very good altogether... A ton of features.. I deployed it on http://www.siblinks.net.. It works quite while! I didn't like Joomla or WordPress. This just seemed so different and better bozonessinc
